Van Cleef & Arpels backs photographer Juliette Agnel’s Venice garden exhibition
The jewelry house is sponsoring a new show of Agnel's photographs at a restored convent garden, continuing a partnership that began in 2023.

Van Cleef & Arpels is lending its support to a new photography exhibition by Juliette Agnel at the Convent Garden of the Most Holy Redeemer in Venice. What the Garden Whispers, opening on August 28 and running through December 19, 2026, will display about 20 of Agnel’s photographs in the restored garden space. A second venue, Le Stanze della Fotografia on the Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore, will show a selection of the work from November 10, 2026 through January 27, 2027, according to the house.
The convent garden itself was the subject of a restoration project backed by the Venice Gardens Foundation, which counted Van Cleef & Arpels among its patrons. The jewelry house has framed the restoration as part of a broader commitment to garden preservation that reflects its long-standing focus on nature as a creative source.
A photographer’s encounter with the garden
Agnel first entered the previously closed garden space in early 2026 and began documenting its character through photography. She visited at different times of day and night, capturing what the house describes as the garden’s “floral, vegetable and medicinal” dimensions and its “rebirth.” The exhibition is housed in the Antiche Officine, a workshop space within the convent grounds. The show was curated by Emmanuelle de L’Ecotais.
Extending a growing partnership
The exhibition marks another chapter in Van Cleef & Arpels’ relationship with Agnel that began in 2023 at the Photo Days festival. In November 2025, the house hosted her at L’ÉCOLE, its jewelry school in Paris, for an exhibition called La susceptibilité des Roches, centered on minerals. The house then presented her work The Scent of Light at the Kyotographie International Photography Festival from April to May 2026.
