Sarah Jessica Parker arrived at the New York City Ballet’s Fall Fashion Gala on Thursday in a long-sleeved, semi-sheer Simone Rocha gown embroidered with florals and decorated with pink ribbons. Parker, a founding member of the event, styled her long hair into an updo that extensions stretched nearly to her knees, then wove a pink ribbon through it to echo the details on her dress. She finished the look with silver jewelry and sparkling silver pointe heels, according to Page Six.

The hairstyle highlighted Parker’s gray-blended hair, a transition her colorist Gina Gilbert at Benjamin Salon has been crafting with the star over several years. The technique, known as “gray blending,” combines bright highlights with natural gray hair into what Vogue Beauty describes as a seamless finish.

On the red carpet

Parker took solo photographs on the carpet before her husband, Matthew Broderick, joined her. Broderick, 64, wore a black tuxedo with a bow tie and a white floral boutonnière. The pair held hands for photographers before heading inside to join guests including Stevie Nicks and Andy Cohen. The couple married on May 19, 1997, marking 29 years together as of this year.

A Carrie Bradshaw echo

Page Six noted that Parker’s appearance drew parallels to her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City,” a character she played for six seasons from 1998 to 2005. She reprised the role in two films released in 2008 and 2010, and returned to the character for the HBO series “And Just Like That,” which aired for three seasons between 2021 and 2025. According to Page Six, her hairstyle resembled an embellished floral braid that Bradshaw wore in a 2022 episode of the spinoff series.

Family and recent work

Parker and Broderick have three children together: James, 23, and twins Tabitha and Marion, 16, all welcomed via surrogate. The family occasionally appears together publicly; their most recent group outing was at a release party for Marc Shaiman’s book “Never Mind the Happy.”
