Bluemercury relaunches Lune+Aster with simplified color makeup range
The luxury beauty retailer's house brand debuts a refreshed identity and streamlined assortment designed around versatile, multitasking products.

Bluemercury has relaunched Lune+Aster, its proprietary makeup brand, with a refreshed visual identity and reimagined assortment centered on the idea of making prestige beauty more approachable. The retailer announced the evolution on October 13, describing the shift as a response to consumers seeking streamlined routines and clearer guidance through the beauty landscape.
The new positioning, called “Beauty, Uncomplicated,” pairs a curated product selection with versatile formulas designed to simplify decision-making without limiting choice. According to Kristina Cappuccitti, director of product development and operations at Bluemercury, the brand aims to combine ease with versatility. “Our clients want beauty to feel special, but they also want it to feel personal and easy to incorporate into their lives and beauty routines,” she said. “Lune+Aster brings that philosophy to life by combining ease with choice.”
Multitasking essentials lead the launch
The October debut centers on two multitasking color products: the Cream Multi-Stick, designed for use across cheeks, lips and eyes, and the Highlighting Multi-Stick. The Cream Multi-Stick delivers buildable color and a dewy finish through a creamy, weightless formula meant for mistake-proof application, according to the brand. Supporting these launches are new eyeshadow quads, a setting powder and dual-ended brushes designed to function as individual products or as components of a streamlined routine.
Bluemercury indicated that the Lune+Aster evolution will continue through 2027, with further product launches planned across complexion, eye and lip categories.
A shift in how the retailer thinks about luxury
The Lune+Aster relaunch sits within a wider refresh of Bluemercury’s beauty assortment. The company said it is expanding its inventory to include brands such as La Prairie, Elemis, Neuraé, True Botanicals, LYMA and The Skincare Tools, describing the additions as part of a consumer-first approach to portfolio growth. These moves reflect how Bluemercury views modern luxury beauty: “more choice without more complexity,” according to the retailer’s announcement, combining discovery with expert guidance.
The retailer’s strategy hinges on what it calls deep client understanding. Rather than add brands for the sake of breadth, Bluemercury said it determines what deserves a place in the assortment based on client needs. This philosophy extends to the Lune+Aster redesign itself. The brand’s core concept—that ease shouldn’t mean sacrificing choice—speaks to a broader consumer shift toward intentional beauty shopping.
The new Lune+Aster products and expanded assortment are available now at Bluemercury stores and on Bluemercury.com.
