Miranda Kerr has explained her decision to pass on a return to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, despite receiving an invitation to mark two decades since her runway debut with the brand.

According to Us Weekly, writing that she felt “in my heart it was right to cherish this chapter as it was.” She added that the invitation held particular significance given the 20-year milestone. “Looking back with so much gratitude for the friendships, the magical memories and for everyone who made that chapter of my life so special,” she wrote.

Victoria’s Secret responded publicly with support. “Always an Angel to us,” the brand commented on her post.

A selective approach to modeling

Kerr’s choice reflects a broader pattern in her career. She last walked in a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2012 and has become more selective about modeling opportunities since becoming a mother. In an April 2013 interview with Fairfax Media, she described the shift as a natural evolution after welcoming her first son.

“The thing is, I’ve been modeling since I was 13. I’m now entering a new phase in my life,” she said at the time. “It’s really important I give 100 percent to my clients and I have to be careful to make strategic long-term decisions with my personal and business interests.”

Recent runway return

While Kerr declined the Victoria’s Secret invitation, she made a surprise return to the runway at Paris Fashion Week during Stella McCartney’s Womenswear Spring/Summer 2027 show—her first catwalk appearance since Moschino in 2017. For that show, she wore a seafoam green gown with dramatic shoulder pads, cutouts at the hip and a knotted waist, paired with silver heels and a slicked braided ponytail.

“Still smiling from this morning,” Kerr wrote on Instagram, posting behind-the-scenes images. “Thank you @stellamccartney for such a special return to the runway.”

Red-carpet presence

Beyond runway work, Kerr has continued to appear at major fashion events. She attended the 2026 Met Gala in a custom white Dior design by Jonathan Anderson, featuring a peplum waist and tiny flower embellishments. She worked with makeup artist Tobi Henney on a beauty look she described to Vogue as “classic and refined, but still modern, something that enhances natural beauty rather than overpowering it.” Henney said the inspiration was “conceived as a modern ode to Audrey Hepburn’s enduring elegance.”
